"Between a Song and a Whisper: HALLELUJAH" is the product of valiant work on the part of those you see performing tonight, and the support it has received, most especially Mary Alice Kurr-Murphy and Adrienne Byrd who have navigated us heroically throughout our visits. The cast has generously opened the process to dancers joining us from throughout North Carolina and the U.S..; inspired by the Greensboro stories, students at the Governor’s School and the American Dance Festival created and perform transitional sections. And the Dance Exchange has been proud to follow the legacy of fellow artist David Dorfman, and his company, who led the way to our four North Carolina sites a few years back.

The Dance Exchange is ever grateful to our friends at the North Carolina Arts Council who have supported our work not only financially1 but serve as guides and mentors of the collaborations made between all our dedicated presenters here in the state.

Join the Dance Exchange for our "Hallelujah/USA" just a little more than a month away: over one hundred participants from our previous national Hallelujah sites (including Greensboro!) will join us near our home in Takoma Park, Md., to create a once-in-history-series of performances August 9 through 11, at the University of Maryland, College Park.

And as always1 we love to hear from you – contact us with your comments and requests for more information on upcoming performances, on our institutes in our home studios, and on potential projects of interest.
